Content Moderation Policy

Tarosyn is a user-generated content (UGC) platform. We take our responsibility to maintain a safe, respectful community seriously. This policy explains what content is prohibited on Tarosyn, how we review reports, the timeline we commit to, the actions we may take, and how users can appeal decisions. It is read alongside our Community Guidelines and Acceptable Use Policy.

1. prohibited content

The following categories of content are not permitted on Tarosyn in any surface — Chant posts, comments, Circle messages, direct messages, profile bios, display names, uploaded images, or any other user-generated content:

Hate speech: Content that dehumanises or incites violence or discrimination against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or age. Harassment and threats: Targeted abuse, intimidation, bullying, or credible threats of violence directed at any individual. Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): Zero tolerance. Any content of this nature is immediately removed, the account is permanently banned, and the content is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and relevant law-enforcement authorities. Graphic violence: Gratuitous gore or content designed to shock, traumatise, or distress other users. Self-harm promotion: Content that encourages or glorifies self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders. Spam and manipulation: Repetitive, off-topic, or unsolicited commercial content; coordinated inauthentic behaviour; artificially inflating engagement. Impersonation: Posing as another user, public figure, or Tarosyn staff member in a way that misleads others. Doxxing: Sharing another person's private information — address, phone number, workplace, etc. — without their explicit consent. Illegal content: Anything that violates applicable law, including content that facilitates fraud, illegal drug sales, or the distribution of malware.

2. how to report content

Every piece of user-generated content on Tarosyn carries an in-app Report control. Tap it to submit a report. You can also report a user's profile directly from their public profile page.

When you submit a report you will be asked to choose one of the following content types:

Hate speech or discrimination Harassment or threats Sexual content or nudity Violence or dangerous content Spam or misleading content Self-harm or suicide Privacy violation (doxxing) Other

For urgent matters — imminent harm, CSAM, law-enforcement requests — contact us directly at [email protected].

For a step-by-step walkthrough of where to find the Report button on each surface and what happens after you submit, see our User Reporting Process.

3. review timeline — 24-hour sla

Tarosyn commits to reviewing every in-app report within 24 hours of receipt. This SLA applies around the clock, including weekends and public holidays. Reports flagging imminent risk to life (threats of violence, self-harm in crisis) are escalated immediately and reviewed within the hour wherever possible.

All moderation decisions are made by human reviewers. We do not currently use automated content filtering as the sole decision-maker for any enforcement action; automated signals may be used to surface and prioritise the review queue.

You will receive an in-app notification once a report you submitted has been reviewed, regardless of the outcome.

4. enforcement actions

When a report is upheld, moderators choose the most proportionate action from the following escalating responses:

Dismiss: The report is reviewed but the content does not violate policy. No action is taken and the content remains visible. Content removal (hide): The specific post, message, or upload is removed from the platform. The account that posted it is notified. Feature restriction: The user's ability to post, message, or use specific features is temporarily restricted while a review is ongoing. Account suspension: The account is suspended for a defined period. The user cannot access the app during suspension. Permanent ban: The account is permanently closed. Applied to severe or repeated violations — including all CSAM cases without exception.

Moderation decisions are at Tarosyn's sole discretion, informed by the severity of the violation, the user's history on the platform, and applicable law.

5. appeals

If you believe a moderation action was applied to your account or content in error, you may submit an appeal. Appeals are reviewed by a moderator who was not involved in the original decision and are typically resolved within 5 business days. Permanent bans resulting from CSAM are not eligible for appeal.

For full details on what decisions can be appealed, what information to include, and the possible outcomes, see our Appeals Process page, or email [email protected] with the subject line "Moderation Appeal".
